MODERN TAILORING

Blazer, Forever 21/ jumper, M&S/ trousers, Primark/ trainers, Adidas from Tkmaxx

A trend I've been loving this AW is an all colour outfit, I went for everything black and added a pair of contrasting white trainers to give the look a more casual feel and red lips for a pop of colour!

These trousers from Primark are a wardrobe must have and may I add EXTREMELY comfortable? Having seen Megan's (pagesbymegan) smart casual pairing of tailoring and trainers, I was really inspired to have a go myself and it's literally been my 'to go' outfit for the past few weeks with an oversized coat thrown over the top.

DRESS LIKE A GIRL, ACT LIKE A BOY

Dress, Zara/ blazer, Forever 21/ rings, Topshop and Urban Outfitters/ bag, unknown
After seeing photos on Instagram of days 1 and 2 of London fashion week, it got me inspired (not to mention showing emotions of ridiculous green envy) to recreate my own style of the latest trends of tailored suits and varsity-like dresses. So after a fresh fringe cut later, I steered away from UCAS and here I am writing this post!
Since suit pants don't really work on me, I opted to show masculinity through a classic blazer and a good pair of patent oxfords. If you want to ditch the masculinity then swap the oxfords for New Balance trainers, the dress was a great find adding a pop of colour ever so subtly on the neckline, hats off to Zara!

London polaroids

As promised, here are some snaps from London taken from my Fujifilm instax camera last June, I didn't take that many as the 200 model is quite a hefty gadget to carry around. I also took some on a disposable camera but over a month later I am still yet to finish it before I go and get them developed and then I'll share them with you. Thanks for reading, have a lovely week!

White on white

Dress (worn as top), Topshop/ skirt, George @ Asda/ heels, Primark
Every summer, I pine for warm hues and whites and every year unsuccessful until last month when I came accross this suprising find.. Sheer panel midi skirt for £8? It's practically a steal. The purchases kept coming- Topshop have certainly outdone themselves with their white summer collection, It can't just be me who walks into the store and sees a selection of white and immediately decides to scope out every corner and detail as fast as possible? Right?

This time of year couldn't have been a better time to pair block white and black together, I wore this outfit to central Manchester a fortnight ago while shopping and I could have potentially blended into Selfridges' instore display!

2/7/14

T-shirt, Primark/ dress, Mink Pink @ Urban Outfitters/ bag, British Museum/ rings from left to right, Urban Outfitters and Topshop/ shoes, Topshop

I bought these Topshop plimsolls not so long ago and I'm currently in love with them. No idea what possessed me to buy plimsolls since I'd sworn a few years ago to never wear these style of shoes again, in all fairness they are very comfortable (as long as you're wearing those life saving foot liners!) and at an inexpensive price of £20 a pair- I managed to score these for £18 thanks to my beloved student card!

Also, following my recent 3 day trip to London last week, I have many posts planned! No outfit shots taken within London unfortunately due to the hassle it would have been trekking around with my Sony dslr which was not something I was willing to do especially in the busiest city in the UK.. I did have a great week which included being out and about at various university days too.
Thanks for reading!

Shirt, Ralph Lauren/ Shorts, Levi's/ coat, Zara/ Boots, Chloé

Time for a long overdue post.. and badly taken photos, I had been pondering on which outfit to publish for quite a while since it's now bordering spring/ summer so what better item of clothing than a pair of shorts? There are so many possibilities especially now that festival season is just around the corner! ( I just hope the weather catches up soon considering it's not the warmest compared to this time last year, if I didn't take chemistry I'd be questioning myself whether Global Warming is actually happening)
Inspired by the goddess who goes by the name of Alexa Chung, I saw a few candid photos of her at the Vogue festival last month ( which seems forever ago, how is it almost May already?!) and instantaneously fell in love with her coat- shirt pairing as shown above.

Parisian ensemble

Coat, Zara/ dress, Jack wills/ bag, Louis Vuitton/ shoes, Clarks

It's March which means time to stress over UCAS prep and how exams are just around the corner.. Sigh.

I'm going for a Parisian themed ensemble on this look, featuring the classic and famous Louis Vuitton bag, from inspiration from the recent event of PFW. The oversized coat was something I picked up the other day (as well as a trench coat and a shirt) from the remains of the Zara sale, it's quite miraculous to find such a beautiful coat for just under £30!

24/2/14

Shirt, H&M/ skirt, Topshop/ coat, H&M/ shoes, Clarks

LFW was all everyone was talking about in the past week and definitely the most exciting, from the likes of Topshop and House of Holland to Burberry and Christopher Kane (they showcased such beauuuutiful garments, it needed a mention). Another side note is that I'm progressively getting better at taking these shots, 80% of these photos are unfocused but I'm getting there.. Have a lovely week and thank you for reading!

Jumper, Topshop/ skirt, Topshop

Another purchase, another outfit post. It really doesn't help me how college gives me such long frees. If I'm not loaded with much work, I often take the opportunity to sit down in costa and browse around a few shops and occasionally come home with a new item of clothing (and an empty purse with nothing but metrolink tickets and receipts). Hope you've all had a better week than what I've had since I've been exhausting myself with revision EVERY day.

Swooning over black and white gingham

Jumper, H&M/ skirt, Topshop/ bag, Longchamp/ scarf, unknown/ shoes, Clarks

I've been loving the old simple black and white monochrome style, which is all I ever wear really... This winter had definitely been a great success for tartan in the fashion world but it never really interested me enough to buy numerous tartan staple pieces or in fact any. I bought this skirt a few days ago since having a craze with a-line style skirts and all I could say is that it matches almost everything in my wardrobe. I've now got a dreaded week of college ahead of me consisting of very early mornings and piles of work. Hope you enjoyed my first ever outfit post- I was really self conscious during the phase of deciding whether to click that little 'publish now' button!
